On the outside, the QX 30 car flaunts the company’s style and mesh grille design that is infused between the chrome accents on the top and the bottom edges. Also, you’d love the prominently placed faux skid plate that incorporates dual exhausts. The styling continues along with a block body cladding and also has its ride height risen by 45 mm. That’s not all, the car also seems to be equipped with a windshield that is raked at a sharp angle and are accompanied by LED Tail lamps. This design is certainly exceptional and is definitely a premium car lover’s dream come true.

Officials at Infiniti say that the car’s styling, which incorporates muscular bumpers at either end and features the firm’s mesh grille at the front, showcases its “design-led approach to product development”. The QX30 is the sister car to the older Q 30 that was Infiniti’s premium hatchback version that went on sale in Europe. This car is to be built together at Nissan’s Sunderland plant.

Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti’s boss said that, The category-defying design of the QX30 stays true to the inspiration behind the daring 2015 concept. Its mix of artistry in the flowing lines, and power in the elevated stance and confident look, makes a bold visual statement and challenges current preconceptions of what a crossover should look like.”

Roland Krueger, Infiniti’s president said, “With our recent sales successes and record growth, the current product offensive will further strengthen Infiniti’s global market position. The active crossover, QX30, joins our new premium compact family and will broaden our offer to new customers around the world.”

Inside the QX 30 crossover, the car comes with a 7.0inch touch screen infotainment system, similar to the one seen in the hatchback version. The crossover also comes with various safety equipment, inclusive of Around View Monitor, adaptive cruise control and a parking assistance system. The crossover also features anti-roll bars and a reworked suspension setup which incorporates stiffer springs. Under the hood, QX30 will probably share the same power-plant options seen in the AWD Q30, which happen to be a 2.2litre 168bhp diesel and a 2.0litre 208bhp petrol motor. Globally, the QX30 is expected to go on sale sometime around mid2016 and will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1. The QX30’s cabin is also claimed to be one of the quietest in the segment. The car will come with safety technology including an Around View Monitor, adaptive cruise control and parking assistance systems, with most functions controlled via its touch screen infotainment system.

Power Train:

This vehicle is supposedly an all-wheel drive that will follow through across as standard on all the QX30’s. It is likely that engines currently offered in AWD form on the Q30 will be offered with the car. That means a choice between a 168bhp 2.2-litre diesel and a 208bhp 2.0-litre petrol. The company claims that the crossover has been designed, perfect and engineered in such a way that it provides a confidence inspiring, dynamic driving experience. It features intelligent all-wheel drive. All engines will be mated to Infiniti’s seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard. This car will come with bespoke tuning settings for its ride and handling. It features stiffer springs and a new rear anti-roll bar, which Infiniti says allows the QX30 to “remain comfortable at all speeds and over a variety of road surfaces”.

The QX30’s price tag is undecided yet. The car is expected to command a significant premium over the Q30. However, the price tag of this car is sure to be hefty.

Bottom Line:

The Qx30 is surely a crucial launch for Infiniti and it strives to compete with premium German manufacturers. After launch, Infiniti had sold 173,000 vehicles worldwide in the first 10 months of 2015, with particular growth in China and the US. The addition of a mass-market crossover should help Infiniti to cash in on what is one of the fastest-growing segments in the marketplace
